Alex’s father has traveled to Patagonia and told Alex how much he wanted to take him there because he loved the region so much. He sadly passed away ten years ago and was never able to realize the dream. When Rachel was in college, she interviewed a Chilean artist for her school newspaper who did a photography project in Patagonia. Her pictures inspired Rachel to put Patagonia on top of her bucket list. When Alex and Rachel were in the Peace Corps, they put together an itinerary for a trip to Patagonia hoping to go there right after they closed their service. The trip couldn’t be realized then but they made a promise that this would be their honeymoon trip. Shortly after Alex and Rachel were engaged, Rachel pulled up the itinerary that has been sitting on her computer for more than two years and she and Alex got to work in researching to make sure they had the most up to date information and making reservations.
